I've been many times and this place is awesome!! My grandmother used to live in Featherville and we would go and spend the weekend at Paradise. The last time I went was in 2006 and all I can say is I had a profound experience there. I witnessed something that I still cannot fully explain. You left out the be your own barista coffee brewers! It's hands down the best backpacking coffee set up that exists. Weighs like 1 ounce and brews an incredible cup by combining a pour over and French press in one (kind of). 2 dollars per bag and reusable. Can't beat it.

You might want to look again at the r-rating on your 'insulated' Klymit-V pad. Pretty sure they just made up a number (4.4) for the R-rating, and the ASTM-rated value is actually 1.9 - literally nowhere near what they advertise it as.

Beginner solo backpack setup = 2k in gear. Welcome to the party pal!

I use two Rumpl down blankets for hammock camping in Montana, I use one over the ridgeline, (some people like to use wool blankets for this instead but wool is very heavy), and this adds a lot of warmth without needing to be right on top of me. I will also use one to add extra warmth to my underquilt by just clipping it at the four corners to the inside of my underquilt. So I basically end up with a down-insulated hammock tent.

Pretty chipper when you found those morels. Some would’ve been like “Aw man, why didn’t I find these before I ate that steak?” Short midweek trips are definitely going to be one of my themes next year. Just cut back to 3 days per week which will be really nice as my stomping grounds tend to be a bit busy on the weekends.

This was beautiful. My son and his wife live in Sand point, and became official Idahoans a few months ago (originally from Oregon.) I also love it there, but am confused by how weed is more criminal than meth, and I use cannabis to sleep, so that sucks!! Also, the fires all over the NW are not organic, but that’s a story for another day😰

this is the most beautifully shot backpacking vlog. Not only are you shooting wide open for some really nice blur on the talking heads, but a lot landscapes and walking shots are composed so well! Not to mention the video content itself is an absolute vibe.
